Daniel E. Davis, M.D., M.S. is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and Associate Professor at Thomas Jefferson University specializing in the treatment of shoulder and elbow conditions. After completing his BS in Chemistry from Wake Forest University, he obtained a Master of Science in Human Genetics from Tulane University, where he also received his medical degree.  Dr. Davis then came to Philadelphia to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, which was followed by his fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Dr. Davis’ clinical focus in on the treatment of all problems related to the shoulder and elbow for patients of all ages.  His expertise spans the treatment of these joints for sports injuries, fractures, and degenerative diseases with both arthroscopic and open techniques and performs a high volume of shoulder replacements each year.  He has published over 100 journal articles, book chapters, presentations and posters. 

Dr. Davis served as the administrative chief resident in his final year of residency where he was awarded the Everett J. Gordon Award for outstanding clinical achievement.  He was an active member of the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leaders Program early in his practice and is a board member of both the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society and the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society.  He continues to have an active role in the Thomas Jefferson Orthopaedic Residency Program as the Associate Program Director as well as participating in the education of orthopaedic residents and shoulder and elbow fellows.
