Dr. Vernese is a board certified, fellowship trained sports medicine physician, specializing in sports and musculoskeletal injuries.  She completed an osteopathic teaching fellowship during her medical school training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center in Chicago, IL.  She then went on to complete a sports medicine fellowship at Swedish Cherry Hill in Seattle, WA.  This training included a strong focus in musculoskeletal diagnostic and procedural ultrasound.  During her fellowship, she served as an assistant team physician for athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional levels.

Dr. Vernese treats a variety of patients, whether they be high school athletes, weekend warriors or mature patients trying to keep active and stay healthy.  Her practice focuses on a variety of injuries from acute to chronic musculoskeletal and overuse injuries, concussion, arthritis, and injury prevention among others.

She takes a minimalist approach focusing on overall health and exercise before jumping into interventional techniques.  In addition to utilizing ultrasound for injection procedures and regenerative therapies, she conducts electrodiagnostic testing for nerve and orthopedic issues.

Dr. Vernese is a published physician and holds memberships with the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine as well as the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

She enjoys running, hiking, paddle boarding, tennis and skiing, but her favorite time spent is with her husband, two daughters and their golden retriever.
