- Joe's Rothman Story - Orthopaedic Oncology
On the surface, Joe seems like an everyday guy – grew up in South Philly; married his high school sweetheart; now raising a family in Glassboro with the kids, and the dog, and the basketball hoop in the driveway – but his story is anything but ordinary.
After discovering an unusual bump on his leg (that he thought nothing of), Joe’s sister-in-law implored him to get it checked out. The doctors diagnosed him with soft tissue sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, and recommended Joe see an orthopaedic oncology specialist immediately. Enter the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute.
Most comfortable when he’s surrounded by others – friends, children, his trusty Labrador Retriever – Joe was assured he would not go through this alone. From assistants and nurses to physicians and specialists, the entire Rothman team would be with him the entire way.
A year later, Joe’s back to being a dad… back to being a husband… and back to being himself.
