Rhonda - Thoracic Lumbar Spinal Fusion

I was diagnosed with slight scoliosis in my 20's, and lived with this until my 50's, when I started to need injections for severe back pain.

When the last 6 injections I had in August 2015 didn't work, I requested an appointment with a spine surgeon. Another physician recommended Dr. Jeffrey Rihn at Rothman, so I made the appointment in the King of Prussia office and brought my MRI.

Dr. Rihn diagnosed me with spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis and other scoliosis. He assured me that he could correct my deformed and painful middle and lower back. I had thoracic lumbar spinal fusion surgery on May 18th, and couldn't be happier. I now live with 18 titanium screws, but I have no pain, and I walk straight.

The surgery has transformed me. I walk 50 minutes a day, do PT to strengthen my legs, and have dropped 17 pounds. Before surgery, I was a very sedentary person. I have been a third grade teacher for over 30 years, and this last year I taught a lot sitting down! I can't wait to return this year now that the pain is gone.
