Dr. Goldberg is a board-certified, fellow-trained interventional spine physiatrist (physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist) focusing on comprehensive non-surgical spine care. He attended medical school at NYU Grossman School of Medicine after complaining his undergraduate degree with a major in biology at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency training at the world-renowned NYU Rusk Institute where he served as chief resident at Bellevue Hospital and as administrative chief resident at Rusk Institute.
Dr. Goldberg followed his residency training with a fellowship in spine medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Spine Health in Cleveland Ohio. There he was trained in image guided interventional spine procedures and worked side by side with world renowned spine surgeons and interventionalists.
Dr. Goldberg previously served in a number of leadership roles including Department Chair of Non-Surgical Spine and Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services at Coordinated Health in Pennsylvania, where he practiced medicine for 14 years. In this role he helped train multiple spine fellows in interventional procedures while delivering exceptional spine care. He formulated efficient spine treatment protocols for patients while utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach of spine surgeons, interventional physiatrists, musculoskeletal radiologists, spine physical therapists and chiropractors.
Dr. Goldberg’s clinical interests include treatment of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine conditions as well as SI joint dysfunction and myofascial pain conditions as he uses diagnostic and therapeutic non-surgical interventions. He also works diligently to identify appropriate spine surgical candidates when necessary.
A more recent cutting-edge spine technology has become an area of keen interest for Dr. Goldberg as he and his patients have noted exceptional pain relief results with the Intracept procedure (basivertebral nerve ablation) to target chronic axial back pain. This procedure offers durable relief of vertebrogenic low back pain and Dr. Goldberg’s practice has been designated by Boston Scientific as the first Center of Excellence (COE) for this minimally invasive procedure in the Central and Eastern Florida region. This recognition was due to their consistent excellence in patient outcomes and high-level of proficiency in performing the procedure.
