D. Harrison Youmans, M.D., is a board certified, non-surgical orthopaedics and sports medicine specialist. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, followed by residency training in Family Medicine at MUSC and Trident Medical Center. He then completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL, training under the guidance of world-renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.
Dr. Youmans uses non-surgical treatments, such as medications, physical therapy, activity modifications, and immobilization, to treat all types of sports-related injuries and other orthopaedic conditions such as osteoarthritis. He is trained in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound to diagnose orthopaedic conditions and to aid with proper medication placement during injection therapies. Injection therapies that Dr. Youmans may consider, include corticosteroid, viscosupplementation, and regenerative therapies, including platelet rich plasma (PRP) and biologic therapies.
Dr. Youmans currently serves as Head Primary Care Team Physician for the Orlando Magic. Previously, he served as the Head Primary Care Team Physician of the Orlando City Soccer Club, including Orlando City Soccer (MLS), Orlando Pride (NWSL), and Orlando City B (USL). He has been a sports medicine consultant for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), US Soccer, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the Atlanta Braves. In addition, has served as the Program Director for the University of Florida-Orlando Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship program, and has been a member of the Major League Soccer Education Committee and the National Women’s Soccer League Medical Task Force.
Dr. Youmans enjoys attending sporting events, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his wife Kandace and his three daughters, Sadie, Emmie, and Harper.

Entre la terapia que utiliza se encuentra el uso de corticosteroides, suplementos de viscosidad y terapia de regeneración, entre las que se encuentran la administración de plasma rico en plaquetas y algunas terapias “biológicas”.
Ha sido el Médico primario en Jefe del Orlando City Soccer Club, incluyendo al Equipo Orlando City Soccer (MLS), Orlando Pride (NWSL) y el Orlando City B (USL).
Ha sido consultor en medicina deportiva para la WWE, US Soccer, el Torneo Arnold Palmer Invitational y los Bravos de Atlanta.
Adicionalmente ha fungido como director del programa de postgrado (fellowship) Primary Care Sports Medicine de la Universidad de Florida-Orlando, y miembro del Comité educativo de la Major League Soccer y de la fuerza de atención médica de la liga femenil de Soccer.
