    Dr. Petrie is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon and has been practicing in the Central Florida area since 2016. He has extensive expertise in hip and knee replacement, including complex revision surgeries. He also performs preservation surgeries for the hip including hip arthroscopy with labral repair, hip resurfacing, and hip abductor tendon repairs.

    Dr. Petrie earned his medical degree with honors from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Orlando Health, where he received the Orlando Health Exemplary Physician Colleague Award and the 2015 Resident Research Award. He also completed fellowship training in hip and knee reconstruction and preservation at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, participating in over 600 surgeries while there.

    Dr. Petrie has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters. He also gives talks at national orthopaedic meetings and is active in teaching orthopaedic surgeons in training. His current research interests include minimally invasive joint replacement surgery, robotic and quick-recovery hip and knee replacement surgery, revision hip and knee replacement, and joint preservation treatments for hip dysplasia and hip impingement using arthroscopic and open techniques.

    Su experiencia incluye, no solo un extenso conocimiento en el reemplazo de articulaciones de cadera y rodilla, incluyendo la revisión y reintervención compleja de cirugías de reemplazo, sino la aplicación de cirugías de preservación para la cadera entre las que se encuentran la reparación artroscópica,  la remodelación de la cadera y reparación del tendón abductor.

    Se graduó del Colegio Médico de Georgia con honores y realizó su residencia en Cirugía ortopédica en Orlando Health, donde fue merecedor  del Premio Orlando Health Exemplary Physician Colleague Award y, en el 2015 del Premio “resident research.”
    Terminó su entrenamiento de postgrado (fellowship) en reconstrucción y preservación de cadera y rodilla en la Washington University School of Medicine en St. Louis, habiendo participado en mas de 600 intervenciones quirúrgicas durante su formación.

    Es autor de numerosos artículos de revisión en revistas y de artículos de libros de la especialidad.  Participa como ponente en múltiples congresos de ortopedia y es maestro de múltiples generaciones de cirujanos ortopedistas en entrenamiento.

    Actualmente está interesado en la cirugía de mínima invasión en el reemplazo articular, la cirugía robótica y la recuperación temprana post-cirugía de reemplazo de cadera y rodilla, reintervención en cirugías de reemplazo de rodilla y cadera, así como el tratamiento de preservación en la displasia e impacto de cadera utilizando técnicas de artroscopia y cirugía abierta.
