Little League Shoulder Treatment

The most important part of treatment is rest. An athlete can expect at least 6 weeks of no throwing, but this can vary based on the severity of the problem and could take several months. Your physician, therapist, trainer, and coach will work on a gradual return back to your sport. The most important component of management is prevention. Reducing your amount of throwing (i.e. following pitch count limits) and maintaining the strength of your core, hip and leg muscles may help prevent this from occurring. Remember, that it is important to listen to your body to prevent injury and be a healthy and successful throwing athlete.
