Non-operative Lisfranc Fracture/Dislocation Treatment

The severity of the Lisfranc fracture/dislocation determines what the proper treatment will be. If the ligaments are partially torn and the bones have not been dislocated out of position, then the patient will be fitted with a cast or boot for about six weeks. This will provide enough exterior support to allow for proper healing. When the cast or boot is removed, the patient may need a rigid arch support in their shoes to prevent  re-injury. After healing, foot exercises may be prescribed to regain strength and motion.
