Brian - Bilateral Knee Replacement

For several years I was experiencing a significant deterioration of both of my knees. I am an athlete, playing basketball most of my life. After playing until I was 35 years old, I began a career as a basketball referee eventually advancing to the high school varsity and lower level women's college. During the 2014 - 2015 basketball season, I began to experience a significant increase in the discomfort in both knees. I did some research and determined that Rothman Orthopaedic Institute was the best place to get things checked out. Ultimately, I was capable of getting an appointment with Dr. Good and once I sat down with him I was immediately impressed by his professionalism, his great bedside manner and his supreme confidence.

On May 26, 2015 I had my knees replaced at Bryn Mawr Hospital. After an extensive and extremely intense 3 month rehab, I was able to start running on the basketball court and eventually returned to refereeing for the 2015 - 2016 season on a reduced schedule.

This past season, 2016-2017, I returned to a full schedule and have never felt better. Dr. Good's skill as a surgeon gave me back my life. I am 62 years old and still running up and down the basketball court, it is truly amazing. Additionally, I am able to go to the gym without restrictions, play golf and spend many happy hours on my road bike. Overall, Rothman Orthopaedic Institute has had an incredible impact on my life.
