Rothman Orthopaedic Institute's Stem Cell and Biologics in Sports Medicine Summit
Rothman Orthopaedic Institute cordially invites you to this groundbreaking Stem Cell and Biologics Summit.
Musculoskeletal injury is the most common cause for emergency room visits worldwide, resulting in millions of hours of lost work and at a cost of billions of dollars each year.
Orthopaedic surgeons and physicians have traditionally relied upon metal prostheses, plastic implants and synthetic fluid injections to repair and replace torn tissue and to ease pain and inflammation.
However, there have been tremendously exciting recent breakthroughs utilizing stem cells and biological agents to treat tissue damage. These treatment options help ease pain, suffering and allow optimal rehabilitation of the injured patient.
The Summit features the world's leading musculoskeletal surgeons, physicians and scientists onstage together. It's translational science at its finest, with treatments progressing from bench-top to bed-side.
The aims of the Summit are:
1) To clearly outline the challenges faced by a third of the world's population who suffer from musculoskeletal injury
2) To highlight current stem cell and orthobiologic treatment options
3) To discuss potential options for the very near future
4) To highlight what the media should know about stem cells in sports medicine
5) To highlight what pro team owners and executives should know about stem cells in sports medicine The target, invite-only audience includes: surgeons, physicians and scientists with a strong sports medicine interest; professional and collegiate team executives and directors; and the academic and lay media.
