March 19th, 2024

For the third consecutive year (2024, 2023, 2022), Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital (ROSH) has been awarded top honors in Outstanding Patient Experience and Patient Safety Excellence by Healthgrades. The hospital received these as part of Healthgrades’ Annual Hospital Quality Awards. When rating a hospital’s quality, Healthgrades assesses a Hospital’s Procedure Performance, Potential Risks, Predicted Outcome, and Star Ratings. They also utilize data from over 45 million Medicare medical claims from 4,500+ hospitals across the nation, and have independent consultants as part of their Quality Advisory Board.

"It is both humbling and a testament to the work of the entire ROSH team to be recognized for a third consecutive year by Healthgrades for our commitment to both Patient Safety Excellence and Patient Experience," shares Chad A. Krueger, MD, Medical Director for the Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital. "In our line of work, it is imperative that we ensure that we are doing everything in our power to help patients feel safe, secure, and cared for during their time in our facility. We thank Healthgrades for continuing to showcase the exceptional patient care in hospitals across the country, and for allowing us to be part of that recognition."

The Patient Safety Excellence Award is given to the hospital that is the top in the nation in providing excellence in patient safety by preventing infections, medical errors, and other preventable complications. The Outstanding Patient Experience Award is awarded to the top hospital in the nation for overall patient experience based on nine measures related to doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness and noise levels, and medications and post-discharge care instructions.

The Bensalem, PA hospital was also recently recognized for being one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement, as part of Healthgrades’ Specialty Clinical Quality Awards. The hospital also received honors for Cleanliness as part of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems.
