Trio of Rothman Physicians Earn America’s Best Spine Surgeon Recognition

Rothman Orthopaedics is proud to announce that Dr. Victor Hsu, Dr. Christopher Kepler, and Dr. Thomas Cha have been included in the first annual ranking of “America's Best Spine Surgeons” by Statista and Newsweek. The ranking included an evaluation of procedures performed, a survey of over 30,000 professionals in the medical field, and a quality-of-care rating by their peers, with 150 surgeons ultimately being recognized.

Dr. Hsu is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in all facets of spine disorders.  His special interests in spine surgery include degenerative conditions, adult and pediatric deformity and complex reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic spine surgery. Dr. Hsu completed both his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Temple University Hospital. He completed his specialized fellowship training in spinal surgery at the San Diego Center for Spinal Disorders in La Jolla, California.

Dr. Kepler is an American Board of Orthopaedic (ABOS) Board Certified Spine Surgeon. He completed a two-year fellowship in spine surgery and spine research at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and Thomas Jefferson University. He received his M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2005 and also attended business school at Columbia, receiving an MBA. He has published more than a hundred peer-reviewed articles and presents regularly at national and international spine meetings.

Dr. Cha is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery. He is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Cha performs both routine and complex surgical procedures on the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Columbia University Medical Center in New York. Then he subsequently completed a fellowship at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
