Dr. Cha is a board certified, fellowship trainied orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery. He is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.

Dr. Cha graduated from Princeton University with a BA in Molecular Biology.  He received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine while also obtaining a Masters in Business Administration from the Lebow School of Business at Drexel. He went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Columbia University Medical Center in New York. He subsequently completed a fellowship at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Dr. Cha maintains a full clinical practice and an active academic and teaching schedule. Prior to joining Rothman Orthopaedics, he led a minimally invasive spine practice at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and served as Director of the Spinal Surgery Fellowship of the Harvard Combined Program.

He has presented lectures nationally and internationally and is the author of over 100 scientific articles and several textbook chapters. He has an active interest in basic science research focusing on biomechanics of the spine and patient outcomes research with his research funded by prestigious grants from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, the National Institutes of Health and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

Dr. Cha performs both routine and complex surgical procedures on the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. He is honored to return to the tri state region to offer patients at Rothman Orthopaedics individualized treatment plans with the most up to date surgical techniques.
