Dr. Donel Sequea is board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Pain Medicine.  He specializes in non-surgical management of the spine and musculoskeletal disorders including the cervical spine.  He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor where he also received his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular and Integrative Physiology.  Thereafter, Dr. Sequea completed his residency at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and was awarded a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.  His fellowship training focused on spine, sports and musculoskeletal medicine.

Dr. Sequea’s treatment options include fluoroscopic and/or ultrasound guided injections, including epidural injections, selective nerve root injections, sacroiliac joint injections, facet injections, medial branch blocks, and radiofrequency ablation.  His goal with all patients is to provide an individualized approach using the safest, most advanced techniques that will promote the best quality of life.

Dr. Sequea is an active member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and is the author of numerous publications focused on muscle metabolism and spine conditions.
